TAGANA-AN – Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager, Janecito L. Jalbo, Jr. and staff interviewed a total of 392 individuals aged 15-30 years old last April 5-8, 2021 with the aim of straining through the aspiring candidates of Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

The program is veered to provide employment for poor but deserving students and help them finish their studies. The initial interview garnered 212 individuals who took the qualifying examination last April 13-14, 2021.

All the successful passers received text messages confirming their triumph over the examination. Following the confirmation was an orientation held at the 3rd floor of the Municipal Hall held last April 21, 2021 with 2 batches; first on 10 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.

Mayor Cesar B. Diaz, Jr. graced the orientation with his attendance and emphasized the need to work hard for their future. “Dako ato pasalamat sa DOLE sa ila programa ug sa atong PESO Manager, Mr. Jalbo sa ija initiative.” (A huge thanks to DOLE for this program and to our PESO Manager, Mr. Jalbo for his initiative.)

With the quota being filled and the final list submitted to DOLE the 100 individuals will embark on a 20-day work-journey that will broaden their horizon and sharpen their skills. They will also receive an allowance at the end of the program. PESO and DOLE are government institutions that works hand-in-hand with the local government units to provide sustainable and short-term jobs to poor and deserving Filipinos.
