TAGANA-AN – On July 15, 2021, Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC) with its parent organization Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) donated six cooling fans worth 216,000 pesos to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tagana-an in coordination with Municipal Mayor, Hon. Cesar B. Diaz. Jr and Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Dr. Benjielita P. Notada for the ongoing municipal wide vaccination.

“The initiative came into mind when we had our vaccination and we observed how humid it was and it can affect those who have hypertensions and comfortability of those waiting for their turn to be vaccinated. This is also a way to encourage others who are hesitant to get vaccinated to get their vaccines since the venue has now an improved ventilation,” said Dr. Oliver Dennis O. Lao, Health Physician of HMC.

“This donation is not just for the health professionals and those who have pre-existing conditions but ultimately for the Tagana-anons” he added.

HMC-NAC has donated an ambulance, rapid antibody test kits, alcohol and masks, food and water, and printers all for the Rural Health Unit of Tagana-an during the onset of Covid 19 pandemic. These efforts have not gone unnoticed and has been recognized by the municipality for their untiring, sincere, and heartfelt efforts in mitigating the effects of the virus.

As it’s host municipality, Tagana-an is a constant recipient of the company’s generous and timely donations.

NAC is a diversified natural resources development company that has four nickel mines (one being HMC) in the Philippines and the leading lateritic nickel ore producer in the country and one of the largest in the world.
