TAGANA-AN – On April 22,2022 the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted an assessment for the conferment of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2021 at the 2nd floor Municipal Hall Lounge.

SGLG symbolizes integrity and good performance of local governments by evaluating key areas that highlights the agency’s over-all performance. It encourages government institutions to enforce meaningful reforms and development towards meaningful local autonomy and development.

The Municipality together with the stakeholders are working hand in hand towards a common goal – bagging the SGLG 2021. “I would like to extend my gratitude to all department heads both national and local for their cooperation and dedication in this wonderful endeavor” said Mayor Cesar B. Diaz, Jr. “Whatever the result of this endeavor may be you all have my sincerest congratulations” he added.

The Regional Assessment Team that conducted the assessment was composed of Local Government Operations Officer VI (LGOO-VI), Ms. Dianna Dial D. Madelo and Civil Society Organization (CSO) Partner, Mr. Buenaventura Maata. The event was attended by Department and Section Heads of the agency.

The assessment ended at 4 in the afternoon and Mr. Maata gave his honest feedback based on the documents submitted by different offices. There is no result yet since some documents still need to be submitted to fully confer the award to the municipality.

Tagana-an previously won an award last 2011, the Seal of Good Housekeeping, the predecessor of the current SGLG. It is indeed a feat for the agency to win the award since all 10 governance areas should be passed. Every department is working day and night to comply any lacking documents for us to win. SGLG is coveted not only because of its monetary award but it is a measure of agency’s quality in delivering excellent services to the people.
