Events and Festivals in Tagana-an
Panginabuhian Festival is a celebration of thanks and festivity for the bounties of the land and sea. It features advocacy for continuance of blessings for the next generations, showcasing how each family thrives each day to provide for their wherewithal. Panginabuhian is rooted from pangita nan kinabuhi : to find a living. It portrays a family’s skills inn fishing i.e. pamukot (net fishing), pamanà (spearfishing), pamingwit (hook/line fishing), panginhas (gleaning), pamuntog (trap for buntog fish), pagkopras (coconut harvesting), pagbasak (rice farming). Panginabuhian Festival is also a proclamation of Tagana-an’s culture expressed in public dance movements of ethnic origins. Panginabuhian Festival is celebrated every 22nd of June in commemoration of “Adlaw Nan Tagana-an” the founding day in 1947.
Annual Town Fiesta
Annual Town Fiesta – It is celebrated every 16th of July in celebration of our patron Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Hudyaka Festival – It is celebrated every second week of December which showcases the local culture of Christmas holiday celebrations.
